Hey Guys,
Looks like i joined here at the right time. With the new redesign of "mobiforge" and all. Gotta say it really looks awesome.
Well, my name is Chris and i live in South Africa. Luckily we have millions of people who use their phones everyday for the internet because of a chat program called mxit so our market is increasing really rapidly.
Anyways, i look forward to the "explosion" of the mobile web which seems to be inevitable!
My name is Martin en working on .mobi sites since a year or so...
Always developing in ASP.NET and that is not the easiest language to follow the .mobi guidelines.
Owner of about 100 .mobi names which will be sold or developed.
My name is Craig Newton, I am a Mobile Application Developer for a company in Cape Town, South Africa. Busy building an Instant Messenger / Web Browser for mobile phones using Java Mobile (J2ME).
I have also used WuRFL to build a mobile content collection site with PHP for the company I currently work at. Mainly following the guidelines mentioned on the DotMobi site for building mobile web pages, also have the book and love it.
Keep up the great work.

My name is Liang Chuan live in Guangzhou China. I'm a graphic designer and interested in mobile gadgets and mobile web design, very like the mobile apps who have a cool UI design and user experience. and i have a blog in my Chinese to introduce the mobile web standards to local developer.
I'm Jamie and been around the old site for a while (1 year it says).
I have worked with Drupal in the past and made the 'accessibility module' for it,
that allows content to be 'scaled' for mobile devices using a lightweight detection script and
some jiggery pokery to put everything together.
Currently trying to promote my latest mobile site: Mobile movie database
my first .mobi and moving away from the mobile development and towards mobile analytics.
friendly hello! i am a fellow drupal user in ireland. we're planning a drupal meet-up in november. i hope some people from dot.mobi would be able to come... and maybe present something? i saw 'zoro' on IRC tonight. hope to see a few of you, if you're not too busy! or you could come and bring some bumpf to hand out :)
please drop by http://groups.drupal.org/ireland/ and vote on dates, or suggest presentations you'd like to give.
I am desiring to develop (hire that is) a game-changing mobile application. Bet you all have that one before? Well, because of its simplicity, usefulness to both consumers and business owners, it captures the imagination of a fledgling YouTube, or Google. I simply want to talk to someone to understand the "ins and outs" and explain the idea, which, I believe is doable. The concept has global implications on the scale of craigslist and the importance of using a browser for web surfing. I welcome a phone call to 281-728-5842 in the US (Central Time Zone) or email at lhowell@execution-architects.com (don't worry my day job is management consulting and not mobile development). Thanks for any help or pointing me to some helpful coaching points.
My name is Paul from sunny California and am constantly working to increase my development skills to build up many .mobi websites, and dev.mobi (or I should now say MobiForge) is an important resource in that process. My thanks to the people at mTLD for supporting this community.
Hi, my name is Bruce. I am an "old guy" who is trying to figure out how to write a .mobi site for my business. I seem to learn best by trial and error. More errors than success. I am hoping that I can get helpful information resulting in fewer errors.
First question: What is the proper line or lines that go at the top of the page to properly stage the site for xhtml ?
You should probably be posting this in another section, but you could use this one:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML Basic 1.0//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml-basic/xhtml-basic10.dtd">
:) Welcome to mobiForge!
*edit* Oh I really can't wait to see that "Preview" button return ... :)
Lots of text does help SEO if and only IF those texts are actually not spam!
I am not new to the SEO game and I know I am quite good at it (I think *hick*) so my advice as a SEO freak will be to build a site for usability of the people visiting the site.
Search engine spiders cannot read anything else except texts (Google can read the a b c of flash but really that can be neglected).
Don't make a site with flash and flash only unless you know what you are doing and setting up texts in the flash boxes as xml. You should have tried MoFuse as that service is much more easier to deploy when it comes to mobi transformation.
Cheers and oh I am Ishtiaq, a Nokia S60 theme developer and SEO freak. lol.
Hey my name is Roger Moss and I am a Senior Web Developer working for Navy Federal Credit Union. We are in the early stages of developing a mobile presence for our members. Initially this will be current rates, locations, contact info etc. We then plan on going further in phase II with mobile account access and SMS capabilities.
I will be using this site extensively as an excellent source of information with regard to mobile web.
Does anyone know when part 2 of the Mobile Web Developers Guide will be available?
Thanks to all for your knowledge and contributions.
Delighted that you find the site useful - if you have any suggestions on how we can make it better please send them our way.
Part 2 of the guide is a work in progress right now. The authoring of this guide is intended to be a community driven process where anybody can contribute (on requesting access to do so), but more structured than a wiki. We still have a fair bit of work to do here...
Hello from Melbourne, Australia!
l am setting up an interesting new venture here ln AU based on mobile browsing and will be reading all of these resources and asking all sortS of questions...
Here's the first: Is there anyone in the forum in Melbourne and interested in helping to develop a prototype of our product ?
Good week to all!
I mainly a Flash Lite developer but I would like to make proper mobile pages to introduce my games and applications.
I'm currenlty fighting with Opera Mini 3 but I hope I'll be able to make something good, even if it seems I'll need to break strict CSS support.
Hi, I'm John and I've just started a new company called MoMeCo - Mobile Media Company. I am using QR Codes to bring printed media to online via .mobi sites. It is based in Dublin and will be opening an office in Adelaide Australia in February.
I'd be interested in anyones thought on QR codes and their initial uses, deployment and overall success for the future... I'll post that topic in another section.
Xruido - I'd be interested in talking to you about your ideas, Adelaide's not too far from Melbourne.
Also, Craignewton mentioned a book that's available from dot mobi.. where's the info on that?
The site is great.. keep up the good work and I hope to see you all soon.
All I can say is Mobiforge is great!! Learnt a lot in a short time from this site.
Although I'm from an IT background, its not in web development, I'm looking to find someone preferably UK based, ideally in the Sussex area who can assist with bringing a .mobi idea to life. Had a look through the directory which is a bit limited in contact details (posted this issue in mobiforge.com section) so if anyone has any recommendations feel free to contact me!!!
Hello Its Remzi from Turkey I hope to use this forum often and meet all of you. Thanks for helping to Us. I registered some mobi domains but i dont know what to do, where to start. I will be patient and find out
We've been working on .mobi projects for eighteen months now and have not looked back. We're a small focused team, with fantastic visionary clients and a thirst for knowledge.
My thanks to all the guys who kicked this project off.

Hi Kwikwap,
Thanks for your kind words. We're delighted with how mobiForge looks - it took a lot of effort mind you.
Look forward to seeing you on the forums.

Hi Martin,
Welcome!
Always developing in ASP.NET and that is not the easiest language to follow the .mobi guidelines.
Anything in particular in ASP.NET that makes it difficult to follow the .mobi guidelines?
You could always move to PHP, or JSP, or .... ;-)

I'm new to the game and I don't get very technical. Used FrontPage in the past.
Just built m3pilot.mobi to complement www.m3pilot.com.
One challenge I enjoyed is the need for economy of words.
Used online tool for the .mobi but hope to learn to write the code myself.
Want to have more control and get better SEO.
Some say that big pages, lots of text helps SEO.
Don't know if that's true.

Hi John,
We've started using QR codes over on our sister site, mobiThinking, so that people can get to showcase sites quickly.
ABC News for example.
Also a little fun side project of mine, SquigglySquares.com, might make you laugh.
